🧮 Construction Material Calculator
To calculate cement, sand, bricks, and reinforcement rods for your construction project, you need the following information:
- Cement: Number of cement bags and price per bag
- Sand: Quantity (cubic feet or cubic meter) and price per unit
- Bricks: Number of bricks and price per brick
- Rod (Rebar): Length, width, height (or total length) and weight per meter, plus price per kg
- Land Area: Length and breadth of the structure (for volume-based estimates)
Below are the standard formulas and an example calculation. You can use these to estimate material quantities and costs.
📐 Cement Calculation
Formula: Cement quantity (bags) = (Volume of concrete × Cement ratio) / (Sum of ratios) × 1.25 (for bulkage)
Cost: Number of bags × Price per bag
🏖️ Sand Calculation
Formula: Sand volume = (Volume of concrete × Sand ratio) / (Sum of ratios)
Cost: Sand volume (cft) × Price per cft
🧱 Brick Calculation
For brickwork (1:4 mortar): Approx. 500 bricks per 100 cft of brickwork.
Cost: Number of bricks × Price per brick
🔩 Rod (Rebar) Calculation
Formula (for slabs): Rod weight (kg) = (Length × Width × (12/100) × 0.00785 × 1000) approx. Or use percentage method:
Example: For 1000 sqft slab 5" thick, steel ≈ 1387 kg (as per 1.5% of concrete volume).
Cost: Total kg × Price per kg

To provide a detailed hard cost calculation, please provide:
- Land or roof area (length × width in feet)
- Cement price per bag (ex: 50 kg bag rate)
- Sand price per cubic foot or per truck
- Brick price per piece (local rate)
- Rod price per kg (or per ton)
